Peer Review Process
Our Peer Review Process
Every submission to the Boitekanelo: Journal of Public Health in Africa is evaluated through a comprehensive peer review procedure designed to ensure reliability and academic excellence. A double-blind system is applied so that reviewer and author identities remain concealed. The process involves online submission, editorial screening for suitability, evaluation by at least two independent experts, an editorial decision informed by reviewer feedback, revisions where required, and final editing prior to publication.
Key features include expert reviewer selection, confidentiality, constructive recommendations for authors, and adherence to review deadlines. The journal generally aims to conclude the review within approximately four weeks, though this may differ depending on circumstances.
