Errata and Corrections Policy
Boitekanelo: Journal of Public Health in Africa strives to ensure that all published material remains accurate and reliable. When mistakes are identified that do not affect the study’s core findings but could create misunderstanding, the journal will publish a formal correction as either an Erratum or Corrigendum.
An Erratum refers to corrections made by the journal for editorial or production mistakes, while a Corrigendum refers to corrections initiated by authors to address errors under their responsibility. Corrections may be issued for inaccuracies in data presentation that do not alter conclusions, author details, missing disclosures, or minor factual errors affecting comprehension. Minor typographical errors are usually not corrected unless considered significant.
Correction requests must be submitted in writing to the Editor-in-Chief, after which the editorial team evaluates the request and consults relevant parties if necessary. Once approved, the correction is published in a subsequent issue and linked to the original article online. All corrections remain openly accessible and clearly connected to the original publication to ensure transparency.
