Our Review Process for Special Issues

Special issues follow the same double-blind peer review procedure as regular submissions, with slight modifications to fit the topic of the issue.

• Guest Editors: Subject experts may be invited to serve as guest editors. They help with the initial review of submissions and recommend qualified reviewers.

• Evaluation Standards: Articles are judged on both their academic merit and relevance to the special issue’s theme.

• Collaboration: Guest editors work in close coordination with the main editorial team to maintain consistency in the review process.

• Final Decision: All publication decisions rest with the journal’s editorial board to ensure the integrity of the journal’s standards.

Oversight of Special Issues

• Guest Editor Roles: If a guest editor is appointed, they collaborate with the editorial board to ensure that submissions meet the Journals quality and formatting requirements.

• Initial Review: Manuscripts are first reviewed to ensure they align with the theme and adhere to the journal’s guidelines.

• Editorial Supervision: The editorial board maintains oversight throughout the process and has the final say on whether a submission is accepted or declined.

Policy on Guest Editor Submissions

To ensure fairness and transparency, the journal has clear rules for submissions made by guest editors.

1. Unbiased Peer Review

   • Articles by guest editors undergo the same anonymous review process as other submissions.

   • Guest editors are not permitted to select reviewers or make editorial decisions on their own papers.

   • A neutral editor or board member is assigned to oversee these reviews.

2. Submission Limits

   • Guest editors may only author or co-author up to 25% of the articles in any special issue.

   • This policy ensures diversity and prevents an over-concentration of contributions from the guest editor.
