Abstract
Human society is one characterized by a series of challenges that not only affect the citizens but also the entire society. This problem has emphasized the need to continually confront these challenges in the general interest of citizens, countries, and the entire international system. Therefore, this volume reflects on these growing issues across the globe and especially in Africa. For instance, in Harnessing Indigenous Knowledge (IK) for Sustainable ECD Centers in Rural Karanga Communities of Zimbabwe, Makonye Leah and Muchabaiwa Wonder investigated how rural Karanga communities currently utilize local flora and fauna for sustainable development, particularly in the context of Early Childhood Development (ECD) centers. Central to their findings is that Indigenous Knowledge (IK) plays vital roles in nutrition, medicine, and employment generation. We conclude that rural Karanga communities can effectively harness IK to promote sustainable ECD practices.
