Plagiarism Policy
African Gender Studies Quarterly maintains strict standards against plagiarism, copyright infringement, and any violations of ethical publication practices. All submitted manuscripts are screened using plagiarism detection tools, such as Turnitin, to ensure originality and compliance with ethical writing standards.

If a manuscript is found to contain plagiarized material, unauthorized use of third-party copyrighted content, inadequate source attribution, or authorship disputes, the journal reserves the right to take appropriate action, which may include:

  • Article Retraction: Retracting the article if plagiarism or copyright infringement is confirmed.
  • Publishing a Correction: Issuing a correction notice to address inaccuracies or improper attribution.
  • Reporting to Authorities: Notifying relevant institutional authorities, such as the author’s department head or dean, as well as academic societies or professional bodies, for further investigation and action.
