Article Withdraw
Permissible Stages for Withdrawal
Authors may request to withdraw their submission at the following stages:
-
Before peer review begins
-
During peer review
-
After peer review but before final acceptance
-
After acceptance but before publication
Procedure for Withdrawal
To initiate a withdrawal, the corresponding author must:
-
Submit a formal written request via email to the Editor-in-Chief or the journal’s editorial office.
-
Clearly state the reason for withdrawal.
-
Confirm that all co-authors have agreed to the withdrawal.
A withdrawal request will be acknowledged within a reasonable time frame. No article is considered formally withdrawn until confirmation is provided by the editorial office.
Important Considerations
-
Timely Communication: Early notification allows the editorial team to avoid unnecessary review efforts and helps maintain goodwill between authors, editors, and reviewers.
-
Ethical Conduct: Repeated or unjustified withdrawals may be viewed as unprofessional and may affect future submissions.
-
Post-Acceptance Withdrawal: Authors requesting withdrawal after acceptance must provide a valid justification, as editorial and production resources may have already been expended.
-
Withdrawal After Publication: Once an article is published, it cannot be withdrawn. If a serious issue is identified after publication such as a major error, ethical misconduct or legal concern the journal will initiate a formal retraction or publish a correction in line with the COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) guidelines.
Misuse of Withdrawal
Authors are advised not to use withdrawal requests as a tool for circumventing editorial or peer review outcomes. Unethical withdrawal practices such as simultaneous submissions to other journals or failure to disclose co-author disagreements may lead to a ban on future submissions or notification to institutional authorities.
