EVALUATING THE PLACE OF IDEAS AND ECONOMIC INEQUALITY IN BOKO HARAM TERRORISM WITHIN NIGERIA

Abstract
Boko Haram is an idea that has strong root on the pre-colonial anti-western education philosophy of Northern Nigeria. It literary means western education is sin. The implication of this idea is that western education is forbidden. This study documents the ideological root of Boko Haram. It further used secondary literature to explain the economic inequality created by the activities of the sect. The study found that the sect activities undermined the national peace, security and economic safety of the country. the study therefore recommends increased security transformation within Nigeria and the Lake Chad countries.
